Wagtail is a delightful cedar wood chalet situated on the south
facing beach with uninterrupted sea views across Lyme Bay. The
location is often described by visitors to this area as "idyllic".
The outstanding beauty, on one of the most stunningly beautiful
parts of rural Devon on the Jurassic Coast, is now recognised
internationally as a World Heritage Site. Branscombe beach is dog
friendly year round, so a perfect spot to holiday with your four
legged friend!
Kitchen/diner: The kitchen/diner is equipped with full size gas
cooker with hob, fridge, microwave, sink, plenty of storage space
and all cooking utensils and crockery.
Bathroom: The bathroom has a shower in the bath, basin and
WC.
Lounge: Living area with L-shaped seating and TV, with views
over the terrace and out to sea.
Bedroom One: Double bed with hanging and shelf storage
Bedroom Two: Twin beds and storage - all with a beautiful sea
view!
Terrace: French windows lead to the beautiful outside area with
deck chairs overlooking the beach and sea.
A permit is provided for 1 car in the main car park. Please
note: there is a 2.2 metre height restriction for the car park.
Access: Wagtail is the first chalet along the track, around
200meters from the car park. We suggest packing lightly with
rucksacks or a beach trolly to transfer your luggage accross to
Wagtail from the car park. The Sea Shanty are able to offer a
luggage buggy service for £25 which is available any day before 4pm
(more details provided in arrival instructions).
Guests can explore the Jurassic
Coast whilst enjoying stunning walks in Areas of
Outstanding Natural Beauty and The
South West Coast Path. The Donkey Sanctuary, Crealy and Pecorama are all nearby for fun filled
days with the kids. There are a wide range of activities
nearby, from Paddleboarding and water skiing to Golf
at Sidmouth Golf Club. Sidmouth and the nearby
local towns have a wealth of independent boutique shops, cafes and
restaurants, including Otterton
Mill and Lympstone
Manor. There are two pubs within walking
distance, The Fountain Head and The Masons
Arms, along with the Sea
Shanty shop and cafe on Branscombe Beach.
**Please note** There is no longer vehicular access on the lane
in front of the chalets. Luggage must be carried from the car park.
There are also intermittent ongoing repairs to the middle and end
section of the lane including some of the closed chalets. Please
note that Sweetcombe Cottage Holidays have no control over these
maintenance repairs.**
